Ernest R. Young, 74, entered into eternal rest on Monday July 3, 2017 at Baystate Medical Ctr. Springfield with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Laura Peritz Young. Ernest was born on Nov. 12, 1942 in Barre, VT to the late Harry Young and Ruth (Lurvey) Shephard and resided in Longmeadow, MA and Suffield, CT before settling in Enfield. Ernest honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Stanadyne Inc. after 30 years.
Besides his wife, Laura he will be missed by his step-daughter Kimberly LaPlante (Kevin) his beloved grandson, Gabriel, of Ludlow, MA. and step-son, Kevin Peritz (Crystal Pendrock) and treasured grandchildren, Samantha, Billy, and James Peritz and Jessica and Bethany Muzzulin of Enfield. He had one great-granddaughter, Callie Pare. He also leaves his brother, Charles Young (Deana Sala) of Wallingford, CT, his father-in-law; Charles Parker, Sr. of Agawam and his brother-in-law, Charles Parker, Jr. of AZ. He was predeceased by a brother, Rudolph Young. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
