Nina is survived by her five beloved children: daughter, Josephine Etkin & her husband, Lloyd of Enfield; daughter, Mary Marion of Enfield; son, James Viola & his wife, Gail of Enfield; daughter, Sylvia Yeargers & her husband, Glenn of Suffield; and son, Joseph Viola of Wethersfield. Nina also leaves her loving brother, Charles Sferrazza and sister, Anna Fiore both of Enfield; her nine beloved grandchildren; Vincent Scicolone, Lisa Etkin, Lynne Turin, Joe & Paul Marion, Jim, Gianna, & Stephen Viola and Nichelle Yeargers Liquori, along with several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends including Mary Falzone and cousin; Lil Gaetani. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Parkway Pavilion for the devoted care and kindness they provided to Nina.
Nina was born in Enfield on June 11, 1908 and spent her childhood in Naro Sicily before returning to Enfield during her teenage years where she resided most of her life. She witnessed many changes in the world around her throughout her near century life and she courageously saw her family through much growth and many challenging as well as happy times. She devoted her energies to fostering family bonds through her strong character, dry wit, unconditional love, and of course her great Italian cooking.
